Niki Dimitras loves to sew. It has been her passion since she first taught herself when she was a teenager growing up in Portland, Oregon. And in the several decades since then, she has been fervently honing her skills as a tailor, designer, entrepreneur and all-around fashion trendsetter, which has resulted in a vast and multi-faceted career in the fashion and entertainment industries. In 2005 she received a degree in Fashion Design and Merchandising from the LATTC. After college she started her own company, and over the course of her 13 year run as the creative mastermind behind the much coveted clothing and footwear brand Luxury jones, she opened her infamous flagship store on Melrose Ave. She has dressed celebrities from Beyonce and Teyana Taylor to LeAnn Rimes and Elton John, and designed several sell-out collaboration collections with brands like Free People and Urban Outfitters. In 2011 she won a Primetime Emmy award as Costume Supervisor on IFC's hit series, Portlandia. Currently, as an industry tailor, she specializes in multitasking in high-energy, fast-paced, team environments, prides herself on her adaptability, resourcefulness, unwavering attention to detail, ability to come up with innovative solutions to any given challenge or problem, and last but not least- her capacity to do all of these things while remaining chill.
